Finding the right business opportunity for an urban tech business can be challenging and time-consuming. This is why we created CityOpps: a search platform and tender management software for public and private business opportunities in smart cities.

Context

Finding the right opportunity for a startup or SMEs can be demanding - especially with limited time and resources. There are many challenges to overcome such as regular scanning of hundreds of right opportunity sources among cities, corporations or business incubators, in different languages and often without even knowing where to look for.

Our Role

We’ve built CityOpps in close partnership with the Polish software studio, Teonite. Our partner focused on technological development while we led the product management, business development and fundraising efforts.

Results

CityOpps is a time-saving, intuitive search and management tool for startups and SMEs. We use our long-standing industry expertise, an international network of scouts and automated processes to curate the best content and separate the signal from the noise. Being aware of the time individuals spend focusing on finding the right business opportunities, we wanted to stress the importance of this factor even more.

About the platform

CityOpps

We built the most comprehensive database by scanning hundreds of sources every day, including tender portals like the EU's TED platform, awards, public grants and challenges by cities, corporates and incubators or accelerators. After this, our team of curators hand-picks the most relevant ones for startups and SMEs.
